Distinction of plastic pontoons from rotationally molded ones.
The most important difference is in the material from which the product is manufactured. We use high-quality PE produced in Europe. During the manufacture pontoon’s wall thickness is controlled by a computer. This ensures quality, reliability and strength of the product.
Rotational molding is a very simple process: heating the raw plastic inside of a mould, which rotates in 2 axes. In such process it is impossible to control wall thickness.
What are the advantages of modular pontoons?
Our pontoons are almost maintenance-free, do not harm the environment, are lightweight, durable and easy to assemble. You can add on modules when you need and change the configuration of your berth each year.
Modules size and weight?
The size of one Sunplast module is 1000x500x400 mm. Weight is 11.5 kg. Two modules unite into 1 sqm. The V-DOCK system consists of 500x500x320 mm V-shape modules. One module weight is 6.5 kg.
The combination of these modules forms a robust dry dock for your PWC.
Is it easy to assemble?
A significant advantage of plastic modular pontoons is their low weight, providing ease and simplicity of assembly. Modular pontoons are easy to unload, carry and assemble on the water even for one person. At the same time for assembly of a rotational molded 3x1,5 m pontoon two adult men are required. A minimum weight of such pontoon is over 70 kg.
Can it be assembled on the water?
Yes it can. But for an easy installation process we recommend to assemble modules on the shore into sections. After shifting sections on to the water it is simple to join them with connecting pins.
Why only your pontoons can be used in open sea, but not the rotational molded pontoons?
Our pontoons can be used in any waters. The modular design is flexible and very durable. It redistributes the load from the wave on other modules. Because of their connecting elements design and large modules, rotational molded pontoons are suitable only for still water with no waves.
Distinction from other pontoons?
Our pontoons have optimum size ratio of load to flexibility. Modular pontoons bend with the wave due to their honeycomb system. Each module redistributes the impact from waves or a boat to the total area of the pontoon. Pontoons that do not have flexible connecting pins area brake apart on small waves.
What weather conditions may withstand your dock?
Our experience shows that Sunplast systems are able to withstand severe storms and extreme weather conditions. Nevertheless an important factor is the reliability of the anchor system. We recommend using plastic pontoons at the protected water area where the waves do not exceed 3 points.
Does the UV affect on the pontoon?
During the pontoons production we add UV light stabilizers of the leading European manufacturers. UV radiation does not affect the properties of your dock. Light blue color, unlike black, does not allow the module to heat up. It provides you with a comfortable surface to walk barefoot.
Can I leave the dock on water during winter?
Yes, this is possible, but only if there is no movement of ice. If ice conditions and weather allows, the docking system left in the water will save your time spent on assembly and reinstall in the spring
We provide a 5-year warranty for all our products.
We use mainly blue color in our production due to its versatility and harmony with all reservoirs. However with an order over 500 square meters other colors are available.
How to assemble my dock?
The product is quite simple to assemble and install with a special set of tools. We provide instructions and necessary information for self-installation of the pontoon system. We also offer our services for dock installation or will redirect you to the nearest dealership.
Can the dock be towed?
It is not difficult to tow the pontoon to a new location by using your PWC. The force at break is over 5 N/cm2.
What is the pontoon load capacity?
Our pontoons are extremely stable and can keep afloat up to 400 kg/m2. In two layers the pontoon can carry up to 750 kg/m2.
Can the pontoon go aground?
No problem if your pontoon partially or completely touches the ground. However make sure that there are no sharp objects at the contact point with the ground.
What pontoon width is enough to walk?
One meter walkway is enough for the passage of one person. But for greater stability and security we recommend a width of 2 m and handrails installation. By enlarging the number of modules you can increase the stability of the pontoon system in general.
What PE do you use at manufacture?
We use only the European primary raw materials, coloring agents and UV stabilizers. Each batch of raw material has all the manufacturer’s certificates.
Is the pontoon deck slippery?
Our module deck is marked with a pattern, which provides anti-slip surface. For your safety we recommend the installation of guard rails.
Besides the usual cleaning of the surface, the system requires little or no maintenance. This gives you more time to enjoy and relax near the water.
Does my dock require registration?
In most countries the construction of modular plastic pontoons does not require papers or further registration. Please check with your local authorities for installation permit first.
V-DOCK slip system.
Pontoon consists of a robust and at the same time soft plastic, which has no sharp edges. It will not leave traces on your boat or Jet Ski. Conversely, the majority of PWC models do not scratch the pontoon. Only in case if your boat planing steps still cling to the plastic, we propose to install a roller slip system right upon your V-DOCK.
